The L.I.F.E. (Leisure Involvement For Everyone) program assists individuals and families with low incomes to access Saanich Recreation programs and services.

Who Is Eligible?

The L.I.F.E. Program is designed for individuals and families in Saanich who are working low income or on B.C. Benefits (Income Assistance, B.C. Benefits Disability and Youth Works).

For the LIFE program your combined income must be at or below the Statistics Canada for the previous year.

How Do I Apply?

NEW for 2012, LIFE applications will now be paperless.  Please present proof of residency (water bill, hydro bill, rental agreement etc.) and proof of income (combined LINE 150 from tax assessments of all applicants) to reception staff at anyone of our four recreation centres. 

Submit the completed application steps and visit any Saanich Recreation Centre. 
Be sure to have all supporting documents. (see important application information above)

2011 Applicants:
If you qualify, you will receive a choice for each family member:

Option A:   One Coupon Book and One Access Card

OR

Option B:   Saanich Annual Membership at 50% discount

Access Card

Your access card is valid at any recreation centre in Greater Victoria. It entitles the holder to 52 free drop-in activities.  All family members are required to be present to apply for the access card as photos are taken for the photo ID card.

Coupon Book

Each LIFE coupon book contains discount coupons for 50% off registered programs. There are coupon books for adults, teens and children. Please note:  There are a few very specialized registered programs that are unfortunately unable to accept the LIFE 50% coupons. However, all Saanich Recreation programs accept the LIFE discount coupons.

Saanich Annual Membership

If you or a family member chooses the pass at 50% off, it must be paid in full at the time of registration into the LIFE 2011 program. Each membership is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Restrictions

Full-time students of UVic, Royal Roads and Camosun College are NOT eligible for the LIFE program. Spouses and dependants of students (that are not students themselves) are still eligible.
