Pesticide Reduction

The District of Saanich has joined the growing trend for Canadian municipalities to raise awareness about the potential negative impacts of pesticide use in our communities.

West Nile Virus

Since 2003, Saanich has been preparing for the potential arrival of West Nile Virus which is spread by infected mosquitoes.   A West Nile Virus Response Plan was completed in 2007.
