The Peninsula Agricultural Commission (PAC) has a mandate to advise the Municipalities of Central Saanich, North Saanich, Saanich, Sidney and Metchosin on matters involving agriculture, and to facilitate the development of programs for implementation of the Saanich Peninsula Agricultural Strategy objectives.
The Strategic Objectives of the PAC are:
- To secure an adequate supply of water to farms at a competitive cost;
- To increase economic returns to farmers;
- To enhance the sustainability of the agricultural land base;
- To foster stewardship of farm land which embraces environmental and other community values;
- To increase public awareness, education and support for a sustainable farm community; and
- To establish a continuing focal point for farm issues and implementation of the strategy.
