Tap By Tap is brought to you by the District of Saanich, the Capital Regional District, City Green Solutions Society, and FortisBC.

Open to Saanich residents, Tap By Tap provided free,easy-to-install faucet fixtures to help save water, energy, and money.

Why did more than 1,000 residents participate in Tap By Tap?

By installing an Energy and Water Saving Kit,they:

  • Saved over 40,000 litres of water each year
  • Saved $70 to $135 on your energy bills each year
  • Reduced greenhouse gas emissions generated through water heating
  • Enhanced drinking water quality by maintaining higher water levels in Sooke Lake
  • Defered the need for developing new sources of drinking water
  • Reduced the costs, energy and materials required to treat and deliver water

If only 600 households in Saanich switched to low-flow fixtures, would annually save:

  • 25,185,000 litres of water (that’s about 10 Olympic Swimming Pools)
  • 935,000 KWh of energy
  • 89 tonnes of greenhouse gases
