Traffic impacts due to project construction near Royal Oak and Cordova Bay

May 3, 2018

As part of the Haliburton Force Main Project, the District of Saanich will connect the Haliburton force main into its sewer infrastructure May 2 and 3.

Construction is expected to begin Wednesday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and continue through Thursday, May 3 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Residents can expect minor traffic delays throughout this construction period as well as restricted street parking due to heavy equipment and trucks in the area. During construction, there will be one way traffic flow along Halliburton Road for residents near Lochside Drive north of 4950 Lochside Drive. Residents approaching from south of 4950 Lochside Drive will use Maxine Lane.

Traffic control personnel will direct traffic in the areas of Rithetwood Drive, Coachwood Place, Trailwood Place, Gatewood Court, Quailwood Place, and Pondwood Lane. Temporary no parking signs will be in place along Rithetwood Drive to accommodate the heavy truck traffic.

Residents can contact Storm & Wastewater staff at Public Works (250-475-5597) for project inquiries.
