The competition will remain open until a successful candidate is hired.
Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer, the Youth Leader (Skateboard Camp) will provide direct supervision to participants in an instructional program specifically for skateboarders. This summer program will teach participants how to safely land tricks and learn general skateboard maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for: planning and supervising relevant activities; ensuring the safety and well-being of participants; and communicating and working cooperatively with participants, parents, coordinators and supervisors. Applicants must have a strong background in skateboarding as well as a strong belief in practicing safe skateboarding habits.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10, three months of full-time experience in a recreation day-camp environment, satisfactory police information check, Emergency First-Aid and CPR Level C, and possession of or willingness to obtain a valid BC Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday with varying daytime shifts, up to 40 hours per week (hours/shifts are subject to change).
