The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced Community Services Manager for the Parks and Recreation Department. This position manages the development and delivery of an integrated suite of recreation services and programs in order to enhance the quality of life for citizens of all ages. Program areas of responsibility include: youth activity centres, seniors services, inclusive and accessible programs, partnerships in schools and alternate spaces, multicultural, volunteers, and parks programming. The Manager provides leadership and direction to a skilled and dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have experience and skills in community development, grant writing, communication, leadership and personnel management. Requirements include: a Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration or a related discipline; five years experience in the provision of recreation services including two years experience in a supervisory capacity, and two years community development experience; possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence along with a personal vehicle available for use as and when required and a satisfactory police information check.
The successful candidate will be required to work primarily Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with some weekend and evening work.
