Under the general direction of the Administrative Supervisor, the Cashier is primarily responsible for reception and cashiering work involving considerable contact with the public. The Cashier takes payment for all recreation programs and services at Saanich Commonwealth Place as well as operates a multiple line switchboard. In addition to providing excellent customer service, suitable applicants must have working knowledge of standard office methods and procedures concerning the receiving and recording of monies and have the ability to make simple arithmetic computations accurately with reasonable speed.
Requirements include: completion of Grade 10; minimum three months experience on office machines such as cash register, calculator, computer and including working in a customer service capacity and a satisfactory police information check.
This is casual, on-call work involving various shifts including evenings and weekends to provide relief for sick leave and vacation coverage of regular staff.
